OpenLab Debuts in Germany
Written by dgb
Monday, 29 January 2007

For the last few months, OpenLab has been collaborating with the Linux User Group (LUG) in Norderstedt, Germany. The LUG have been testing OpenLab4 as well as EduKar 1.5, and recently started an implementation at a local school.

Some comments from LUG member, Florian Osses:

¨We played around a bit with the OpenLab/EduKar and are fascinated. This Distro works very well, setups are made up easy¨

¨All together I must say, OpenLab is a very mature distribution¨

They have written a blog for their "OpenLab goes Germany" project – check out the original German version at openlabingermany.wordpress.com or a (poorly) translated version here!

You can also join in and follow progress on irc at channel #openlab, via irc.lugn.de or irc.unixfreunde.de

Image ZybaCafe (formerly DireqCafe) is the next-generation of free and open-source internet café management suite.

ZybaCafe comprises a server-side administration suite, as well as clients to manage time-control on machines. The standard version uses postgresql as an RDBMS but porting it to other database systems should not be very difficult.

ZybaCafe has a powerful plugin architecture allowing for easy extensibility and integration with other tools such as accounting packages and CRM systems.
